Max has over 25 years of experience in petroleum geoscience and carbon capture and storage (CCS), spanning academia, industry, and applied R&D. He holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide that investigated natural CO₂ accumulations as analogues for long-term storage processes.

His career has included research roles at the University of Adelaide, CCS project development at BP Alternative Energy in London, and senior technical leadership at CO2CRC since 2012. Max is currently Senior Manager – Technology Development at CO2CRC, where he leads the design and delivery of the Future Research Program and field demonstrations at the Otway International Test Centre.

Max is passionate about developing pragmatic, field-validated solutions that enable large-scale, cost-effective CO₂ storage.
