University of Melbourne
Professional Bio
Amila Edirisinghe holds a BSc degree in Mining Engineering from the Department of Earth Resources Engineering,
University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering at
the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research primarily focuses on the dynamics of fluid and particle movement
within subsurface fracture flows. Edirisinghe is conducting laboratory experiments utilising advanced particle image
velocimetry (PIV) techniques, complemented by numerical analysis, to investigate particle-laden two-phase flows under
turbulent conditions. In addition to his current research, he has expertise in various aspects of mining engineering and has
garnered significant industrial experience in this field. https://infrastructure.eng.unimelb.edu.au/people/graduate-researchers/civil-engineering/amila-edirisinghe
